#6 Wildcats roll in home sweep over Minnesota Crookston

            #6 Wayne State held Minnesota Crookston to a -.022 hitting percentage as the Wildcats cruised to a 25-13, 25-9, 25-9 Northern Sun Conference volleyball win Saturday afternoon over the Golden Eagles at Rice Auditorium in Wayne.  WSC is now 22-3 and 15-1 in the NSIC while UMC is 6-18 and 0-16 in the league.
            The Wildcats forced eight Golden Eagle errors in the opening set as WSC rolled to a 25-13 first set victory.
            Chloe Hanel had four kills and a pair of blocks for the 'Cats with Laney Kathol adding three kills.
            The second set saw WSC jump out to a 16-0 lead highlighted by four service aces from sophomore Anna Borner as the Wildcats recorded an easy 25-9 set win.
            Channatee Robles had five kills to lead WSC in hitting while freshman Mattie Kamery added three. 
            The third set saw the 'Cats post 17 kills with a .517 hitting percentage as WSC completed the sweep with a 25-9 third set win.
            Kamery accounted for six kills in the final set for WSC with Robles adding four.
            For the match, WSC hit .370 with 43 kills and just nine errors on 92 attacks while UMC was held to -.022 with 17 kills and 19 errors on 93 attacks.  The Wildcats held a 53-35 edge in digs and had six service aces along with a 6-2 edge in blocks.
            Kamery's 11 kills led WSC in hitting followed by Robles with 10 as 10 different Wildcats recorded kills.  Borner had a team-high 10 digs with four service aces while Hanel and Kamery each had two blocks.  Setter Molly Romano handed out 33 set assists for the 'Cats.
            WSC is on the road next weekend for NSIC contests at Minot State Friday at 6 p.m. and the University of Mary Saturday in a 10 a.m. contest.
