Wayne State College is tied for 12
th in the 2025-26 NSIC Women's Indoor Track and Field Preseason Coaches' Poll released Thursday morning by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota. The Wildcats received 56 points in voting conducted by league coaches as senior thrower

Six-time defending NSIC champion Minnesota State was a unanimous choice to win the NSIC women's indoor track and field title again this season with 196 points and 14 first-place votes. The University of Mary was second at 181 points and the remaining first-place vote (coaches cannot vote for their own team). Augustana (164), Winona State (150) and Sioux Falls (147) closed out the top five teams.
Northern State was sixth with 135 points followed by Minnesota Duluth (125), MSU Moorhead (92), Southwest Minnesota State (79) and Concordia-St. Paul (68) filling out the top 10 teams. Minot State was 11
th at 64, WSC and Bemidji State tied for 12
th with 56 points each, with Jamestown (37) and St. Cloud State (27) filling out the poll.
Schwarzrock, a senior thrower from Gibbon, Minnesota (Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop HS), was listed as the Wildcat Field Athlete to Watch. Last season she took seventh place in the shot put (43' 7 ¼") at the NSIC Indoor Championships and just missed another medal taking 10
th in the weight throw (52' 3 ¾").
Holmes, a sophomore sprinter/mid distance runner from Forest City, Iowa (Forest City HS), was tabbed the Wildcat Track Athlete to Watch this season after earning an eighth-place medal last year in the 600-meter run with a time of 1:39.65 at the NSIC Indoor Championships.
Wayne State College is scheduled to open the 2026 indoor track and field season this afternoon (Friday) hosting the WSC Wildcat Opener at Dr. Ron Holt Track and Field in the Wildcat Dome with field events starting at 2 p.m. and running events starting at 3:15 p.m.
