Boston Hensley were named Northern Sun Conference Football Players of the Week late Monday morning by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota following their performances in Saturday's 27-17 road win at previously unbeaten MSU Moorhead. Forgy was named Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career while Hensley earned Special Teams Player of the Week for the first time this season and second time in his Wildcat career.
Forgy, a 5-11, 200-pounder from Winterset, Iowa (Winterset HS), gained 223 yards on 31 carries and scored two touchdowns for the Wildcats in Saturday's victory against the Dragons. He found paydirt on runs of 78 and 14 yards and became the first running back since Ryan Ludlow in 2014 (252 yards at Sioux Falls on 11/15/14). The 223 yards by Forgy were the eighth-most in a single game by a Wildcat running back. Forgy also had two receptions for 10 yards and two kick returns for 43 yards giving him 276 all-purpose yards in the win.
Hensley, a 5-11, 190-pound placekicker from Council Bluffs, Iowa (Lewis Central HS), was named Special Teams Player of the Week after going 2 for 2 on field goals vs. the Dragons. He booted a 34-yard field goal to open the scoring early in the first quarter and added a 26-yard field goal with 1:08 remaining the clinched the Wildcats' 27-17 win. He also connected on all three PAT kicks and averaged 55.5 yards on six kickoffs with two touchbacks
Wayne State is 2-2 on the season and 2-1 in NSIC play entering Saturday's homecoming game vs. Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. at Bob Cunningham Field in Wayne.
