Wayne State earns second straight trip to NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championship

            For the second straight season, Wayne State College has qualified for the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships as the field for this year's championship was announced Sunday afternoon by NCAA.
            The Wildcats earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Central Region Championships May 4-6 in St. Joseph, Missouri by capturing their first-ever Northern Sun Conference Women's Golf Championship that concluded Friday in Blue Springs, Missouri, beating Minnesota State by five shots (926-931) to claim the team title. 
            Wayne State is one of five teams from the NSIC and 18 overall that will compete Monday-Wednesday, May 4-6 at St. Joseph Country Club in St. Joseph, Missouri.  The Wildcats were announced as the #14 seed Sunday afternoon in the 18-team field.  The top five teams from the Central Region Championship will advance to the NCAA Division II Championships May 12-16 at PGA National Resort in Palm Beach, California. 
            Last season, Wayne State finished 16th in the Central Region Championships while qualifying for the NCAA Division II Championships for the first time in school history.
