Wildcat men's basketball team, three players collect NABC Academic Honors

            The Wayne State College men's basketball team and three players received recognition for their work in the classroom Wednesday morning being selected to the NABC (National Association of Basketball Coaches) Team Academic Excellence Awards and NABC Honors Court.  The three individuals selected were senior Evan Inselman and juniors Landon Classen and Wade Voss while the men's basketball team was honored with a cumulative grade point average of 3.302.
            The NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards recognizes programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.00 or higher while the NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student players who finished the 2025-26 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.  Over 2,300 players and 400 programs received academic honors from NABC this season. 
            Inselman, a senior forward from Bellevue West HS, recorded a 3.5 grade point average majoring in business and is a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team selection.  On the court this season he produced 1.8 points and 0.8 rebounds per contest.
            Classen, a junior guard from O'Neill HS, maintained a 3.4 grade point average while majoring in applied human and sport physiology.  He was a medical redshirt this past season and was named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.
            Voss, a junior forward from Lincoln Southeast HS, accounted for a 3.6 grade point average this season majoring in business and is a two-time NSIC All-Academic Team of Excellence selection.  On the court this season he averaged 2.0 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in 24 contests with one start. 
            Wayne State finished the 2025-26 season at 15-14 overall – a sixth straight winning season – and an 11-11 record in Northern Sun Conference play.
