#9 Wayne State College used .392 hitting while forcing 20 attack errors on host Adelphi as the Wildcats swept the Panthers Friday afternoon 25-19, 25-15, 25-15 in Garden City, New York at the Paws Up Classic. The Wildcats are now 2-0 on the young season with Adelphi slipping to 0-2.
A tightly-contested opening set featured 10 ties and six lead changes, but the Wildcats broke loose from a 15-15 tie and ended with a 25-19 first set victory.

Delaney Miller each record three kills with
Mattie Kamery,
Mia Berg and
Channatee Robles each adding two while Kamery had two service aces.
The 'Cats buckled down on defense in the second set, forcing nine attack errors (four blocks) and holding Adelphi to a -.032 hitting percentage in collecting a 25-15 set win.
Robles had four kills followed by Miller with three. Berg had a solo and assisted block in the set win.
10 different players saw action in the third set with the 'Cats completing the sweep thanks to another 25-15 set win.
Berg had four kills to pace the 'Cats with Hanel adding three.
Anna Borner,
Reese Johnson and Robles each were credited with a service ace.
WSC hit .392 in the win with 37 kills and just six attack errors while holding Adelphi to .125 with 30 kills and 20 errors. The 'Cats held a 9-1 edge in blocks and had six service aces, one more than the Panthers.
Hanel and Robles each had eight kills for WSC with Miller and Berg each accounting for seven. Hanel accounted for five blocks, Johnson and Kamery each had two service aces and setter
Molly Romano handed out 30 set assists.
Wayne State heads to Flushing Meadow, New York Saturday to play two matches at Queens College, facing Queens at 9 a.m. and Bloomsburg (Pa.) in an 11 a.m. contest.
