Wayne State College placed three players on the Rockhurst Volleyball Classic All-Tournament Team announced Saturday evening following the conclusion of the two-day tournament in Kansas City, Missouri. Leigh Connot, Jennifer Hefner and Mindy Moody were three of the seven players selected to the All-Tournament Team, joining Alyssa Emerson, Emily Levy and Maggie McGovern of host Rockhurst and Brooke Bernabei of Tiffin (Ohio).
Connot, a junior libero from Lincoln Pius HS, averaged 3.50 digs per set in four matches over the weekend. Hefner, a senior middle hitter from Archer, Nebraska, averaged 3.92 kills and 0.75 blocks per set while hitting .471 in four Wildcat wins and Moody, a junior middle hitter from Sioux City, Iowa (Heelan HS), averaged 3.50 kills and 0.50 digs per set for the Wildcats.
Wayne State finished the tournament with a 4-0 record, winning all matches in 3-0 sweeps. The Wildcats, ranked 17th in NCAA Division II, travel to Denver, Colorado this weekend for the Division II Premier Challenge.
