Round 1 Results of Wayne State Men's Spring Golf Invite

Garret Kuhl shot a seven-over-par 79 to lead the Wayne State men's golf team Friday in the opening round of the Wayne State Spring Invitational held at the Wayne Country Club. The opening event of the spring season featured 65 degree temperatures in Wayne with mostly sunny skies. In the team standings, Wayne State shot a 328 and sits in 12
th place.
Minnesota State heads the team standings after the opening 18 holes with a 290 followed by Concordia-St. Paul in second two shots back at 292. Minnesota Crookston is third at 296 with Augustana fourth at 298. Nebraska-Kearney, St. Cloud State and Upper Iowa are tied for fifth with 300.
Kuhl recorded the top Wayne State score with his 79 followed by O'Neill sophomore
Blake Bauer at 81. Other WSC finishers included
Brad Lanman at 83,
Spencer Shadden 85 and
Colin Preston 86.
The Wildcats will conclude play Saturday in the Wayne State Spring Invitational with teams scheduled to begin play at 10 a.m. at the Wayne Country Club.
