NSIC Tournament Results
Freshman Blake Bauer from O'Neill, Nebraska shot a final round of 80 while Brad Lanman fired an 81 on Saturday to lead the Wayne State College men's golf team this weekend in the final segment of the 2012-13 Northern Sun Conference Men's Golf Championship that concluded at Paradise Pointe Outlaw Course in Smithville, Missouri. As a team, the Wildcats were 12th with a 72-hole team score of 1,362 shooting team scores of 339 and 331 over the weekend.
St. Cloud State shot a 299 on Saturday and 313 on Sunday to win the 72-hole team title with a total score of 1236 while Minnesota State came in second with a final total of 1268. Sioux Falls was third at 1272 while Concordia-St. Paul and Minot State rounded out the top five by tying for fourth at 1277. Augustana was sixth at 1281 with Winona State seventh at 1288. Bemidji State (1292), Minnesota Crookston (1299), Upper Iowa (1308), Northern State (1352) and Wayne State (1362) conclude the team scoring.
Individually for Wayne State, Bauer was the top Wildcat finisher with a 72-hole total of 332 highlighted by his first round 79. Lanman was next for the Wildcats at 341 capped by Saturday's round of 81. Garret Kuhl and Colin Preston each posted a four-round score of 366 to round out scoring for WSC.
The meet concludes the 2012-13 season for the Wildcat men's golf team.
