th minute, and held on for a 1-0 victory over Wayne State in Northern Sun play Saturday afternoon in Wayne at the Wayne State College Soccer Complex. The Warriors improve to 5-0 overall and 2-0 in league play while the 'Cats drop to 1-3-1 overall and 0-2 in the NSIC.
The game was scoreless in the first half with Winona State holding a 13 to seven advantage in the shots category. However, the Warriors capitalized on a deflected shot by Meg Riebau in the 60
th minute to give them the 1-0 advantage over the Wildcats, which they would hold on to for the victory.
Winona State held the advantage in shots over the Wildcats with a 23 to 13 advantage in that department, as well as being rewarded seven corner kicks to Wayne State's two. Wayne State was also whistled for 12 fouls to just five by Winona State.
Kelsea Lambert led the Wildcats offensively with three shots along with two shots each by
Josie Brown and
Veronica Walker.

Margaret Harma had nine saves for the 'Cats in the loss, and now has an overall record of 1-3-1 on the season.
The Wildcats will be at home again Sunday afternoon hosting Upper Iowa in a 1 p.m. NSIC contest at the WSC Soccer Complex.
