Former WSC baseball player Brandon McDaniel working World Series with LA Dodgers as head strength and conditioning coach

            Former Wayne State College baseball player Brandon McDaniel has worked his way up the ladder as a strength and conditioning coach and has now reached the pinnacle - working the World Series with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
            McDaniel is in his fourth year as the head strength and conditioning coach with the Los Angeles Dodgers and 11th overall year of work in the strength and conditioning field.
            A native of Council Bluffs, Iowa, McDaniel started his collegiate baseball career at South Dakota but when the school dropped its baseball program in 2004 he transferred to Wayne State and played baseball for the Wildcats in 2005 and 2006.  He earned a bachelor degree in exercise science from Wayne State in 2007 and in 2009 he enrolled in the master's program at A.T. Still University in Mesa, Arizona where he earned a master's degree in human movement in 2010.
            Along the way, McDaniel also worked as a minor league strength and conditioning coach with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization from 2007-09, working with the Gulf Coast League in 2007 and the Class AA Altoona Curve in 2008 and 2009. 
            During the off-seasons from 2007-10, he resided in Omaha and worked as a personal trainer for athletes at Lifetime Fitness.
            From 2010-11, McDaniel worked as a performance specialist for EXOS in the Department of Defense at Fort Meade Army Base near Baltimore, Maryland.
            McDaniel joined the Dodgers organization in 2012 and worked as strength coach for the AAA Albuquerque Isotopes and one year later was promoted to the big league club as has served as head strength and conditioning coach with the Los Angeles Dodgers since the 2013 season.
            Brandon and his wife Andrea now reside during the off-season in Glendale, California with their two kids - Caleb (3) and Turner (2).
