NCAA Central Regional Men's Cross Country Championship Final Results
The Wayne State College men's cross country team finished 24
th with a team score of 638 points at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships in Joplin, Missouri Saturday afternoon. It's the best finish at regionals for the Wildcat men since 2016 and an improvement of 61 points in the team score from last year.
Missouri Southern topped Northwest Missouri State 52-64 to capture the team title with Augustana (76), Fort Hays State (144) and Sioux Falls (146) rounding out the top five teams. Wayne State was 24
th out of 27 teams with a score of 638.
Wildcat junior
Bailey Peckham was the top WSC runner crossing the tape in 98
th place out of a field of 192 runners with a time of 33:20 on the 10,000-meter course. Peckham improved by 45 positions from last year and improved his time by 38 seconds on the same course as last year.
Brock Hegarty and
Dylan Kessler were the next Wildcat runners with Hegarty 128
th (34:10) and Kessler 133
rd (34:14).
