Mount Marty Twilight Meet Final Results
Redshirt freshman
Mckenzie Scheil improved on her NCAA provisional mark in the hammer throw with a first place finish Wednesday evening to lead the Wayne State College women's outdoor track and field team at the Mount Marty Twilight Meet in Yankton, South Dakota. The meet attracted NCAA Division II schools from Augustana, Northern State and Wayne State along with NAIA schools Briar Cliff, Dakota State, Dakota Wesleyan, Dordt, Morningside, Northwestern and host Mount Marty College.
Scheil posted a first place finish in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional mark of 182' 8", now tied for 11
th in NCAA Division II. The Wildcats ended with five of the top seven finishers in the event as
Tia Jones took third (168' 2"),
Nicole Heeren was fourth at 161' 9",
Sarah Stang fifth (155' 6") and
Kenzie Sullivan seventh with a mark of 149' 6".
Freshman
Jordyn Pester had a pair of second place finishes in the 200-meter dash (26.10) and 400-meter dash (56.39). Freshman
Allie Rosener also had a second place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a time of 12:39.30 and freshman
Andrea Torres was second in the 5,000-meter run (20:03.24) with
Amanda Mote third at 21:49.58.
Molli Vasa came in third place in the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.04) with Ali Dykman had a third place finish in the high jump clearing 5' 0".
Riana Noelle recorded fourth place finishes in the long jump (16' 3 ¾") and the triple jump (33' 1").
Joan Jelimo was fourth in the 800-meter run (2:18.32) with
Marin Jetensky fifth (2:22.61) and
Kim Lowman eighth at 2:27.27.
In the discus, Sullivan came in third place at 139' 1" and Heeren was seventh at 116' 4".
Jones claimed a third place finish in the shot put (44' 8") with Stang sixth at 41' 4 ¼" and Sullivan eighth (40' 3 ½").
Wayne State will compete again on Saturday at the Concordia Blizzard Buster in Seward starting with field events at 12 p.m. and running events at 5 p.m.
