Wayne State discus throwers
McKinley Grover and
Torrance Tso hit NCAA provisional marks while freshman
Breylee Botts won the 100-meter hurdles to lead the Wildcat women's track and field team Friday and Saturday at the Sioux City Relays.
           Botts posted the lone event win for WSC crossing the tape first in the 100-meter hurdles finals in 14.23 seconds.
           Grover had a second-place finish in the discus with an NCAA provisional mark of 153' 11" while teammate
Torrance Tso was right behind in third at 152' 2' which was an NCAA provisional mark.
           In the shot put, sophomore
Jalecia Williams was third with a top heave of 44' 9" with senior
Olivia Schwarzrock fifth at 43' 2 ½".Â
           The hammer throw saw
Taylor Arp take fifth (170' 10"), Williams was sixth at 164' 9" and Schwarzrock eighth at 157' 8".
           Sophomore Allie Czapla had a third-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:50.78,
Callie Kirchner was fourth in the 1,500-meter run at 4:50.04 while sophomore
Reagan Murphy had a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.39.
           Other top finishers for the Wildcats included
Kalli Reese taking fourth in the javelin (108' 8"),
Carly Busch sixth in the javelin at 97' 1" and
Zoey Holmes eighth in the 400-meter dash (59.73).
           Wayne State will compete in Kearney next Saturday (April 18
th) at the Loper Invite.
