Truman State turned two Wayne State errors into eight unearned runs as the Wildcats suffered a 12-2 loss Saturday evening at the Washburn Invitational Softball Tournament in Topeka, Kansas. Truman State is now 3-6 on the year while dropping WSC to 0-4.
Wayne State struck first in the contest, scoring both runs in the bottom of the first inning.
Kortney Buresh walked and later scored on a wild pitch while
Kim Vidlak doubled and scored on a
Kamryn Sparks fielders' choice for a 2-0 WSC lead.
Truman State posted three runs in the third inning and used a five-run fourth to take an 8-2 lead.
The Bulldogs culminated the scoring with four runs in the sixth to finish with the 12-2 win.
Truman State had eight hits in the contest to one for the Wildcats – Vidlak's double in the first inning.

Hadley Chvatal (0-3) started the game and worked three innings in the loss, allowing four hits and four runs (all unearned) with three strikeouts. Sophomore

Wayne State will close play in the Washburn Invite Sunday battling Pittsburg State at 2 p.m. and Fort Hays State in a 4 p.m. contest.
