Wayne State 3 Benedictine (Ariz.) 2

            Wayne State College opened the 2021 beach volleyball season Tuesday morning with a 3-2 victory over Benedictine University of Arizona at Gene Autry Park in Mesa, Arizona. 
            The Wildcats opened the match with a win at #1's when Hope Carter and Taya Bellar posted a 21-5 and 21-17 win. 
            Benedictine evened the match at 1-1 with a 2-0 win in the #2 match over Kelsie Cada and Jordan McCormick, but WSC took control of the contest with wins in the next two matches for a 3-1 lead.
            Jacee Weber and Elly Larson posted a 21-15, 21-18 win in the #3 match followed by a Wildcat win from Maddie Duffy and Alyssa Ballenger in the #4 contest 21-18, 21-9.
            Benedictine made the final score 3-2 with a win in the #5 match over Jaci Brahmer and Lauren Jacobsen 21-19, 21-19.
            In the #6 match, Wayne State's Jessie Brandl and Isabelle Vacek won in straight sets 21-15, 21-12.
