Freshman
Logan Moeller posted a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying marks in the long jump and triple jump Friday to lead Wayne State College at the Loper Invitational held in Kearney. The meet attracted NCAA Division II schools from host UNK, Chadron State, Fort Hays State, South Dakota Mines, Black Hills State and Sioux Falls, NAIA schools Concordia, Hastings, Bellevue and College of St. Mary along with Dodge City Community College.
Moeller, a freshman from Pierce, hit an NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump at 48' 7 ½" and added another NCAA provisional mark in the long jump at 24' 3" to finish second in both events.
Sophomore
Dylan Kneifl posted a fourth place finish in the high jump clearing 6' 4 ¾" and
Cole Christoffersen was sixth in the hammer throw at 184' 3".
Kearney freshman sprinter
Theo Huber collected a fifth place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.04) and was sixth in the 200-meter dash in 22.44 seconds.
Senior
Noah Lilly was fifth in the 110 meter hurdles in 15.50 seconds,
Cody Rogers was seventh in the triple jump (43' 3"),
Daniel Elge eighth in the shot put (47' 3 ¾"),
Alex Brandt ninth in the javelin at 136' 11" and Braden Johnson ninth in the long jump at 21' 4 ¾".
Wayne State's next meet is Friday and Saturday at the South Dakota Challenge in Vermillion.
