Wayne State opens the 2023 portion of the basketball schedule this weekend with NSIC cross division games at MSU Moorhead Friday at 5:30 p.m. and Northern State in Aberdeen Saturday at 4 p.m.  The Wildcats are fourth place in the NSIC South (9-3, 5-3 NSIC) entering this weekend's road trip.  MSU Moorhead is 6-5 and 3-4 (5th place) in the NSIC North while Northern State starts the weekend at 7-6, 2-5 NSIC North (6th place).  WSC and MSUM have not met since the 2019-20 season due to COVID-19 while last season Northern State topped WSC in Wayne 64-53.
