Hayden Wallace. The 2023 Academic All-District women's soccer team, selected by College Sports Communicators (formerly CoSIDA), recognizes top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
Allen, a sophomore from Topeka, Kansas (Washburn Rural HS), scored three goals with one assist this season for the Wildcats starting 17 of 18 games at forward while playing 1,103 minutes. She maintains a 3.69 grade point average majoring in psychology and communication studies.
Hoffman, a senior defender from Simi Valley, California (Simi Valley HS), started all 18 games at defender this season and was fifth on the team in minutes played this season (1,258) helping a Wildcat defense record seven shutouts. Hoffman carries a 3.53 grade point average majoring in psychology with minor in criminal justice.
Schlines, a graduate student defender from Council Bluffs, Iowa (Lewis Central HS), is a repeat CSC Academic All-District selection with a 4.00 grade point average majoring in criminal justice and psychology. She ranked second on the team in minutes played this season (1,565) while starting all 18 games. Schlines had nine shots with three on goal.
Syvrud, a senior midfielder from Rock Springs, Wyoming (Rock Springs HS), is a repeat CSC Academic All-District recipient and maintains a 3.81 grade point average majoring in pre-med / biology and chemistry. This season she recorded one goal with four assists for six points ranking fourth on the team in shots (17) while starting 12 of 18 games.
Wallace, a graduate student goalkeeper from Glendale, Arizona (Grand Canyon Univ. / Glendale HS), recorded a 3.96 grade point average pursuing a master's degree in clinical mental health counseling. Se started all 18 games in net this season and had a 7-8-3 record with a 1.26 goals against average, credited with 83 saves while allowing 22 goals.
Wayne State finished the 2023 season with a record of 7-8-3 and was 10
th place in the NSIC with a 5-6-3 league mark.
