Jordan Janssen of Wayne State College was announced Monday morning as the Northern Sun Conference Men's Basketball South Division Player of the Week by the league office in Burnsville, Minnesota following his play in a Wildcat victory over Concordia-St. Paul and a loss to Minnesota State.
     
    Janssen, a 6-7 senior forward from Lincoln (East HS), averaged 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game. On Friday's loss, Janssen recorded 17 points, eight rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in a 67-66 loss to Minnesota State. He recorded 30 points with seven rebounds and seven assists in Saturday's 92 to 79 overtime win over Concordia-St. Paul.
    
    Janssen is also 10 rebounds away from breaking the all-time rebounding record for the Northern Sun Conference (819) which is held by Gus Johnson from Winona State (1971-1975).
  
    This Season Janssen is averaging 20.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game shooting 51.8 percent from the field and 77.3 percent (68-88) at the free throw stripe.
  
    Wayne State, 17-9 on the season, will close the regular season with key south division games first with Sioux Falls at home Thursday, February 16th at 5:30 p.m. and on the road at Southwest Minnesota State on Saturday February 18th at 5:30 p.m.
