William Jewell College held Wayne State to just two hits in recording a 10-0 win in eight innings over the Wildcats in non-conference baseball played Sunday afternoon in Liberty, Missouri.  The host Cardinals take two of three games in the series and are now 3-3 while WSC falls to 3-4.
WJC righthander Jake Sawyer kept the Wildcat bats in check, holding WSC hitless until the sixth inning.

William Jewell took a 1-0 lead in the first, added three runs in the second and three more in the third for a 7-0 cushion.
The Cardinals scored again in the fifth for an 8-0 lead.
Wayne State got its first hit of the game to start the sixth inning, a double by Quinn McCafferty.  One batter later Colin Lynam was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second but the 'Cats could not score.
Kyler Essink had the other Wildcat hit, a two-out single in the seventh.
The 'Cats got a pair of walks to open the eighth as McCafferty and Carter Thomas reached base, but WSC could not get a hit to produce runs.
William Jewell then scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to finish with a 10-0 win in eight innings.
WJC had 11 hits to just two for WSC while the host Cardinals also took advantage of five Wildcat errors.
