Wayne State College senior goalkeeper Sidney Truman was announced Monday morning as the NSIC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week following her performance last Thursday in a 1-0 win over Winona State.  It's the first time that the fifth-year senior from Ankeny, Iowa has received NSIC Player of the Week honors.
            Truman recorded eight saves vs. Winona State last Thursday in a 1-0 win over the Warriors, helping Wayne State qualify for the NSIC Tournament for the first time since the 2019 season.  It was her sixth shutout of the season and the win over Winona State was just the third for WSC in 32 career meetings.
            For the season, Truman has a 7-6-5 record with six shutouts and a 1.10 goals against average.  She ranks fifth in the NSIC this season with 89 saves, is tied for sixth in the league with six shutouts, ranks seventh in save percentage (.824) and ninth in goals against average.
            Wayne State is the #8 seed for the NSIC Women's Soccer Tournament that starts Monday afternoon with the Wildcats visiting NSIC regular season champion and #7 Minnesota State Monday at 1 p.m. in Mankato, Minnesota.
