Wayne State College had four players named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team announced Tuesday. The quartet includes
Riann Daas,
Kaylee Herall,
Erin Peters and
Morgan Rhodes.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
Daas, a fifth-year midfielder from Rush City, Minnesota (Chisago Lakes HS), carried a 3.53 grade point average majoring in mental health counseling. She started 18 of 19 games this season for the Wildcats and recorded one goal and one assist on 18 shots while ranking third on the team in minutes played (1,529). Daas scored a goal at Southwest Minnesota State (9/20/24) and assisted on a goal at MSU Moorhead (10/4/24).
Herall, a junior midfielder from Papillion (Papillion LaVista HS), maintained a 3.57 grade point average majoring in pre-dentistry. This season, she was one of just three Wildcat players to start all 19 games and one goal while ranking seventh in minutes played at 1,112. Herall scored the game-winning goal vs. Minnesota Crookston on October 27
th and produced seven shots and five shots on goal this season.
Peters, a senior defender from North Mankato, Minnesota (Mankato West HS), produced a 3.75 grade point average majoring in construction management/drafting and design. She accounted for one goal and two assists while starting 18 of 19 games and helping a Wildcat defense record eight shutouts this season. Peters scored a goal at Augustana (10/18/24) and was credited with assists against Minnesota Duluth (9/27/24) and at MSU Moorhead (10/4/24). She ranked fourth on the Wildcat roster this season with 1,416 minutes played.
Rhodes, a fifth-year defender from Omaha (Millard West HS), had a 3.69 grade point average majoring in marketing and fashion merchandising. She started 18 of 19 games this year and was credited with two goals ranking third on the team in shots (26) and tied for second in shots on goal with 14. Rhodes recorded goals vs. Minnesota Duluth (9/27/24) and Minnesota Crookston (10/27/24) and ranked fifth on the Wildcat roster in minutes played (1,397).
Wayne State finished the 2024 campaign with records of 7-7-5 overall and 6-4-4 in the NSIC. It was just the second trip to the NSIC Tournament for the Wildcats since the 2006 season and first since 2019. Wayne State also had its best conference record since 2005 and it was the first .500 season for Wildcat soccer since 2016.
