Kylie Pachta and
Anna Coffee each picked up medals for the Wayne State College women's indoor track and field team Saturday on the final day of the 2024 Northern Sun Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held at Myers Fieldhouse in Mankato, Minnesota. As a team, Wayne State finished in 13
th place with 13 points.
Minnesota State captured the women's team title with 228.5 points, well ahead of second place UMary with 133.5 points. Augustana took third at 123 points with Sioux Falls fourth (66.5) and Minnesota Duluth fifth (40).
Northern State and Winona State tied for sixth with 27 points, Bemidji State eighth at 18.5, Minot State ninth with 18 points and MSU Moorhead 10
th at 16. Southwest Minnesota State (15), Concordia-St. Paul (14), Wayne State 13
th with 13 points and St. Cloud State scored one point.
Schwarzrock, a sophomore from Gibbon, Minnesota, collected her second medal of the meet Saturday with a seventh-place finish in the shot put (42' ¾") to go with her All-NSIC third place finish in the weight throw on Friday, which was a personal-best and NCAA provisional mark of 57' 7 ½".
Pachta recorded a seventh-place finish Saturday in the 800-meter run finals with a time of 2:23.16 and sophomore
Anna Coffee picked up an eighth-place medal in the pentathlon scoring 3,230 points.
Other points scored by Wayne State came from
Hailey Baker taking eighth in the weight throw with a mark of 54' 8 ¾" while the distance medley relay team of
Callie Kirchner,
Sarah Cotton,
Kylie Pachta and
Alison Stineman took eighth place with a time of 12:44.05.
