Four Wildcats named to CSC Academic All-District Women's XC/Track & Field Team

            The Wayne State College women's track and field team saw four athletes – including two repeat selections – named to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Cross Country/Track & Field Team announced Tuesday morning.  Selected from Wayne State were senior thrower Olivia Schwarzrock, junior thrower Torrance Tso and sophomores Taylor Arp (thrower) and Reagan Murphy (hurdler).  It's the third straight year Schwarzrock has received the academic honor while Tso is a repeat selection.
            Eligible nominees must carry a minimum 3.50 or higher grade point average and have posted a top 50 mark in her respective event(s) within the Central Region.
            Schwarzrock, a senior from Gibbon, Minnesota (Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop HS), maintained a 3.88 grade point average majoring in forensic science in the classroom this season.  This season, she earned All-NSIC honors in three events for the Wildcats, placing second in the shot put at the NSIC Outdoor Championships (45' 7 ¼") while finishing second in the weight throw (57' ¾") and third in the shot put (44' 2 ¾") at the NSIC Indoor Championships.
            Tso, a junior thrower from Norfolk (Norfolk HS), produced a 3.73 grade point average majoring in psychology and criminal justice this year. On the track, she collected a fourth-place medal in the discus at the NSIC Outdoor Championships with a toss of 144' 1" and just missed a medal at the NSIC Indoor Championships placing ninth in the weight throw at 53' ¼".
            Arp, a sophomore thrower from Kennard (Arlington HS), carried a 3.96 grade point average majoring in elementary education.  This season, she ranked 10th in the Central Region in the hammer throw and collected All-NSIC honors with a second-place finish at the NSIC Outdoor Championships throwing 171' 6" and was 11th in the weight throw during the NSIC Indoor Championships at 51' 9 ¾".
            Murphy, a sophomore hurdler from Algona, Iowa (Bishop Garrigan HS), majored in nursing and health science and maintained a 3.51 grade point average.  She brought home a fifth-place medal in the 100-meter hurdles at the NSIC Outdoor Championships in 14.23 seconds and just missed the final in the 400 hurdles taking 10th at 1:04.20.  During the indoor season Murphy was ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.87 seconds.
