Wayne State throwers dominated Friday at the Sioux City Relays at Olsen Stadium in Sioux City as
Reilly Young and
Hailey Baker picked up event wins to lead the Wildcat women's track and field team.
The Wildcats had four of the top seven finishers in the hammer throw, led by
Hailey Baker's first-place mark of 171' 6".
Olivia Schwarzrock took fifth place at 158' 9",
McKenna Markle was sixth at 155' 7" and
Reilly Young took seventh at 153' 0".
Young led a trio of Wildcats that placed in the top six in the discus, taking first place at 152' 0". Freshman
Torrance Tso was fifth at 130' 5" with Schwarzrock taking sixth at 126' 10".
Freshman
Callie Kirchner had a strong second-place finish in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.23.
Wayne State will compete again Saturday at the South Dakota Challenge in Vermillion starting at 11 a.m.
