Mallory collects All-NSIC honors in discus to close NSIC Track and Field Championships

            Sophomore Daylin Mallory posted a third-place finish to earn All-NSIC honors for the Wayne State men on the final day of the 2024 Northern Sun Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Mankato, Minnesota.  WSC ended eighth in the team standings scoring 47 points.
            Minnesota State easily captured the men's team title with 271.5 points with Augustana a distant second at 78 points.  Northern State was third with 73 points followed closely by MSU Moorhead (72) and Sioux Falls (66.5) in the top five.  Concordia-St. Paul took sixth at 63 points followed by University of Mary (51), Wayne State eighth at 47 points along with Minnesota Duluth (46) and Minot State (31) closing out the top 10 teams.
            Mallory, a sophomore from Norfolk HS, picked up a third-place finish and All-NSIC honors in the discus Saturday with a top mark of 164' 8" while freshman J'Dyn Bullion was close behind in fifth place at 163' 9".
            O'Neill sophomore Keaton Wattier placed fourth in the 110-meter high hurdles in 14.37 seconds while the other medal picked up by the Wildcats Saturday came from Wayne senior Cody Rogers taking eighth in the triple jump with a top leap of 45' 10 ¾"". 
            Wayne State had three All-NSIC performers on Friday as senior Dylan Kneifl placed second in the high jump clearing 6' 8 ¾".  Junior Daniel Elge earned a third-place finish in the hammer throw with an NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 191' 9" while Pierce junior Logan Moeller collected a third-place medal in the long jump at 24' 5", an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. 
            Other medal winners for Wayne State were Debonaire Williams taking fourth in the decathlon scoring 6,091 points while sophomore Daylin Mallory was fifth in the shot put at 53' 7 ¾". 
            Freshman Elliott Nottlemann took seventh in the high jump clearing 6' 3 ½".
