For the second time this season. Wayne State's Kennadi Borngrebe has been honored with Northern Sun Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week honors. It's the second time this season (February 18^th) that the graduate of Elkhorn South High School has received Pitcher of the Week honors.
            Last week, Borngrebe went 2-0 in two starts to help WSC close their annual Florida trip with 8-2 record. She fired a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts in a 5-0 win over Northwood (Mich.) last Tuesday and worked 6.1 innings the next day allowing just four hits and one run in a 4-1 victory over Ohio Dominican. For the week she pitched 13.1 innings and allowed just one run on eight hits with 14 strikeouts.
            For the season, Borngrebe leads the Wildcat pitching staff with an 8-4 record in 13 games and 10 starts with five complete games. She ranks third in the NSIC with 80 strikeouts, is tied for fourth in wins (8) and is eighth in earned run average at 1.91.
            Wayne State softball is 15-9 on the season and the Wildcats open Northern Sun Conference play this weekend on the road at Minot State Saturday and University of Mary Sunday.
