Wayne State College senior guard
Sean Stokes was named to the 2024-25 Academic All-District Men's Basketball Team released Tuesday morning. The award is selected by College Sports Communicators and recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom.
Stokes, a 6-4 senior from Bensalem, Pa., carries a 3.505 grade point average majoring in sport management with a minor in coaching. This season he started and played in 28 of 29 games averaging 6.4 points and 2.5 rebounds a contest ranking seventh in the NSIC in steals per game while scoring double figures in seven games. Stokes set a new WSC single game record and tied an NSIC record with 10 steals to go with 14 points vs. Minnesota State December 6
th. He scored a season-high 15 points vs. Sioux Falls on January 30
th.
Wayne State finished the 2024-25 season with a record of 16-13 overall and finished 10
th in the NSIC with a 10-12 league mark. It was the fifth straight winning season for Wildcat men's basketball.
