Wayne State announces 2025 football schedule

            Six home games highlight the 2025 Wayne State College football schedule announced today by Director of Athletics Mike Powicki.
            The 2025 season opener showcases the return of an in-state rivalry on the Wildcat schedule as Wayne State faces Nebraska-Kearney for the first time since the 2011 season on Thursday, August 28th at 6 p.m. at Bob Cunningham Field.
            Wayne State opens Northern Sun Conference play the following weekend hosting UMary in the annual Family Weekend Game on Saturday, September 6th in a 6 p.m. contest.
            After opening the season with two home games, the 'Cats hit the road the following two weeks for NSIC games at Northern State on Saturday, September 13th (TBA) and at MSU Moorhead on Saturday, September 20th in a 12 p.m. contest at MSU Moorhead.
            The 'Cats conclude the September portion of the schedule on Saturday, September 27th hosting Southwest Minnesota State at 1 p.m. in the annual Homecoming contest.
            WSC hits the road to open October visiting Winona State on Saturday, October 4th (TBA) followed by a October 11th home matchup vs. Bemidji State in the Hall of Fame Game starting at 1 p.m.
            October 18th finds Wayne State with a bye week with play resuming on Saturday, October 25th hosting Minnesota State at 1 p.m.
            The month of November starts with a pair of road games for the Wildcats, visiting Concordia-St. Paul November 1st at 12 p.m. followed by a November 8th matchup at Sioux Falls with a 1 p.m. kickoff.
            Wayne State concludes the 2025 football schedule hosting Augustana on Saturday, November 15th in the annual Egg Bowl Game at 1 p.m.
            Wayne State was 7-4 overall in the 2024 campaign and tied for fifth in the NSIC with a 6-4 league mark.
