Wayne State made the most out of a two-out error with bases empty in the top of the seventh inning, leading to three runs that lifted the Wildcats to a 6-4 come-from-behind victory over West Virginia Wesleyan Friday afternoon at the National Training Center Spring Softball Games in Clermont, Florida. WSC is now 9-7 on the season while the Bobcats drop to 4-15.
The 'Cats held a 3-0 advantage through 4 ½ innings until West Virginia Wesleyan rallied with four runs in the fifth for a 4-3 lead. WSC then used three straight hits in the seventh with two outs after an error to keep the inning alive as the 'Cats rallied for the win.

The 'Cats plated two more runs in the third for a 3-0 cushion thanks to a Scobee two-run single that scored
Emilee Marth (walk) and
Jordyn Rochholz (single).
West Virginia Wesleyan erupted for four runs in the bottom of the fifth on four hits to take a 4-3 lead until Wayne State's heroics in the seventh.
After the first two batters were retired in the seventh,
Leah Chance reached on an error to keep the inning alive. She scored on an RBI double by Marth to even the score at 4-4. Marth touched home plate with the go-ahead run thanks to a triple to center field from
Taylor Coleman and Coleman scored when Borngrebe singled to center field for a 6-4 lead.
Senior reliever Sami Felt notched the save in the seventh recording the final two outs as the Wildcats rallied for the 6-4 victory.
Wayne State had six hits in the win to five by West Virginia Wesleyan. Coleman had an RBI triple, going 1 for 3 with a run scored. Marth doubled while Scobee produced a two-run single for the 'Cats.
Coleman started the game in the circle and worked 4 1/3 innings, allowing three runs on two hits with five strikeouts. Senior
Grace Lucka picked up the win (2-0) pitching the next two innings of relief, giving up one run on three hits. Felt recorded the final two outs of the seventh to earn her third save of the season.
Wayne State plays two more games Saturday at the NTC Spring Games in Florida, facing Salem (W.Va.) at 8 a.m. and Wayne State (Mich.) in a 10:30 a.m. contest.
