Grace Lucka fired a one-hit shutout with seven strikeouts to lead the Wayne State softball team in a 9-0 five-inning win over Salem University of West Virginia Saturday morning at the National Training Center Spring Games in Clermont, Florida. WSC is now 10-7 while the Tigers drop to 4-4.
The Wildcats scored single runs in the second and third but put the game out of reach with a six-run fourth inning.

Hayley Murphy (single).
The lead increased to 2-0 in the third when
Emilee Marth scored on a passed ball.
The 'Cats used five hits and one Salem error in the fourth to score six runs for an 8-0 advantage.
Jordyn Klein started the big inning with an RBI double. Murphy added a two-run double with Scobee producing a two-run single for big hits in the inning.
The final run in the fifth inning resulted from an RBI single by Marth making the score 9-0.
Wayne State had 11 hits in the win while holding Salem to one. Marth went 3 for 4 with a double and two runs scored to lead a balanced Wildcat attack. Scobee singled twice, going 2 for 3 with three RBI. Murphy was 2 for 2 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored while
Taylor Coleman was 2 for 4 with a run scored.
Lucka improved to 3-0 on the season with the complete-game win, allowing just one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks.
Wayne State plays Wayne State (Mich.) in a 10:30 a.m. contest Saturday to continue play at the NTC Spring Games.
