Schwarzrock wins shot put with NCAA provisional mark at Mark Schuck Open

            Senior thrower Olivia Schwarzrock won the shot put with an NCAA provisional mark and placed second in the weight throw while senior Lindsey Kneifl broke her own school record in the triple jump to lead the Wayne State women's indoor track and field team Saturday at the Mark Schuck Open held in Mankato, Minnesota.
            A native of Gibbon, Minnesota, Schwarzrock's winning throw in the shot put was 45' 3" and now leads the NSIC in the event.  She also placed second in the weight throw at 58' ¼".
             Senior Anna Coffee hit an NCAA provisional mark and placed sixth in the pentathlon scoring 3,338 points.
            In the triple jump, senior Lindsey Kneifl broke her own school record placing sixth at 37' 8 3/4" to top her previous school record of 37' 8" set last season at the NSIC Championships in Mankato (3/1/25).  
            In the high jump, juniors Jerika Bakenhus and Kailee Kellum each tied for sixth place as both athletes cleared 5' 1 ¾".
            Other top finishers for the Wildcats included Jalecia Williams taking fifth in the shot put (42' 6 ¾"), Reagan Murphy was fifth in the 60-meter hurdles finals in 8.99 seconds, Taylor Arp took sixth in the weight throw (52' 6 ½"), Carly Busch came in sixth in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.44, Kaitlyn Bloomenrader was sixth in the 800-meter run (2:21.61) with teammate Kyla Krusemark next in seventh at 2:21.83. 
            The Wildcat distance medley relay quartet of Callie Kirchner, Bloomenrader, Zoey Holmes and Allie Czapla came in sixth place in a time of 12:54.59.
            Wayne State will compete at home on Friday, February 6th hosting the Wildcat Invite in the Wildcat Dome on Dr. Ron Holt Track with field events starting at 1 p.m. and running events at 3 p.m.
