Hilo opened the scoring with 11 runs in the first inning after they put the 'Cats down in order.
The Wildcats were scoreless through the first four innings until they found their way around the bases in the fifth. Max Heard and Gabe Monosmith both singled to start the inning and each advanced a base after Brooks Kneifl grounded out for the first out.

Carson Obrecht would start on the bump in this game and as able to put the first six batters away for the Vulcans, striking out two of them.
