Former Wayne State All-American defensive end Troy Pribnow has been selected for induction into the Northern Sun Conference Hall of Fame. The league office in Burnsville, Minnesota announced the 2026 NSIC Hall of Fame inductees Tuesday morning with the eight inductees set to be honored Tuesday, July 7
th during the NSIC Hall of Fame banquet at the Double Tree by Hilton in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Other inductees in the 2026 NSIC Hall of Fame class include Sheena Devine of Bemidji State (track and field), Kayla Koenecke from Concordia-St. Paul (volleyball), Mike Thorson of Umary (coach/track and field), Kevin Mulder from MSU Moorhead (basketball), Michelle (Bruns) Kirk of Southwest Minnesota State (basketball), Heather Miller-Koch from St. Cloud State (track and field/basketball) and Tom Sawyer of Winona State (coach/football).
Troy Pribnow played football for five seasons at Wayne State from 2004 to 2008. The Scribner-Snyder High School (Neb.) graduate became Wayne State's first All-American since Brad Ottis (1993) as a senior in 2008, named to five different All-American teams after leading the NSIC in sacks (14), tackles for loss (22), forced fumbles (5), and fumble recoveries (4). As a senior, Pribnow ranked third in NCAA Division II in sacks and eighth in tackles for loss, helping WSC to a 9-3 record and only NCAA Division II playoff berth in school history and tie for NSIC South Division title.
Pribnow's 2008 All-American honors included First Team AFCA, Second Team Daktronics, Associated Press Little All-American Team, D2Football.com, and Lineman of the Year from Don Hansen's Football Gazette. As a junior, Pribnow had 12 sacks, 20.5 tackles for loss, 69 tackles, and three fumble recoveries to earn First Team All-NSIC honors, helping WSC to a 7-5 record and trip to the Mineral Water Bowl.
Pribnow finished his career as First Team All-NSIC selection as a junior and senior and All-American as a senior. His 29 career sacks rank fourth all-time at WSC while his 14 sacks as a senior tied for the second most in school history. Pribnow's 12 sacks during junior season are sixth on the all-time list at Wayne State College.
Pribnow currently resides in Lincoln, Neb., and has worked in the agricultural industry and currently serves as a location manager for Midwest Farmers Cooperative.
Troy Pribnow will become the 10
th individual from Wayne State College to be inducted into the NSIC Hall of Fame. He will join Katie Goetzinger Voth (softball) in 2025, Logan Masters (football) in 2023, Katie Wilson (track and field) in 2022, Dustin Jones (baseball) in 2019, volleyball player Emily (Schroeder) Jones in 2018, retired baseball coach John Managanaro (2016), softball/soccer standout Sarah (Herrick) Wagenfuhr in 2015, baseball pitcher Brady Borner in 2012 and the late Pete Chapman (athletic director) in 2006.
