Wayne State College senior quarterback
Silas Fluellen is one of three players named Wednesday afternoon the D2Football.com Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in last Saturday's 42-39 win over Southwest Minnesota State. Fluellen shared the honor with Arkansas Tech quarterback Nick Graziana and Western State (Colo.) quarterback Tyler Daniels.
The 6-1, 210 pounder from Bellevue West High School accounted for 489 yards of total offense in helping the Wildcats top the Mustangs. Fluellen completed 34 of 47 passes for 425 yards and four touchdowns to four different receivers and added another 64 yards rushing on 19 carries.
With Saturday's performance, Fluellen became the 30th player in NCAA Division II history to surpass 10,000 yards of total offense in his career. He now has 10,067 yards entering Saturday's homecoming contest vs. Upper Iowa. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. at Cunningham Field in Wayne.
