Fields shoots 82 in second round of NCAA Central/West Regional

Second round results from NCAA Central/West Region Men's Golf

            Wayne
State's Adam Fields shot an 82 Tuesday in the second round of the NCAA Central/West Regional Men's Golf Tournament held at The Classic Club/Troon Golf in Palm Desert, California.  The junior from Sioux City Heelan has a 36-hole total of 158 after shooting a four-over par 76 in Monday's opening round. 

            Brandon Harkins of Chico State and Gordon Webb of Western New Mexico share the individual lead after 36 holes with scores of four-under par 140 followed by Kyle Souza of Chico State in third at 141 (-3).  In the team standings, Chico State leads Sonoma State by two shots, 577-579, entering Wednesday's final round.  Western New Mexico is third at 582 with CSU-Monterey Bay (592) in fourth and CSU-Stanislaus, UC-Colorado Springs and Western Washington tied for fifth at 594.  The top five teams and the top two individuals whose team did not qualify, advance to the national tournament. 

            Fields will play his third and final round of the NCAA Central/West Region on Wednesday with his tee time set for 10:10 a.m. Central Time.
