WSC 6 NSU 5

            In the win over Northern State, the Wolves rallied form a 5-1 deficit to tie the game at 5-5 in the seventh inning. Wayne State freshman Ashley Prettyman came up clutch for the Wildcats in the bottom of the seventh with a walk-off hit that delivered Kaiti Williams home for the game winning run.

            WSC plated a pair of runs in the first and second innings.  Vicki Nielsen had an RBI single, and Kaiti Williams added an RBI groundout in the Wildcat first inning.  Jordan King and Dani Sandel each delivered RBI singles in the second inning to put the Wildcats on top by the score of 4-1.  Williams added an RBI double in the fifth to increase the WSC lead to 5-1. 

            Northern State rallied with four runs in the top of the seventh to tie the score at 5-5.  The Wildcats had an answer in the bottom of the inning, however, and a single by Ashley Prettyman drove in Williams to give WSC the 6-5 victory.  Wayne State used two hits and a pair of Northern State errors to plate the game-winning run. 

            The Wildcats finished with 10 hits in the win.  Nielsen and Prettyman led the way with three hits apiece.  Sara Scheffert picked up the win to improve to 3-3 on the year.  She allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits with one walk and five strikeouts.
