Sioux Falls turned seven Wayne State turnovers into 21 points as the Cougars spoiled the season finale for the Wildcats in a 35-10 Northern Sun Conference football win in the 25th annual Egg Bowl Game played at Cunningham Field in Wayne.  The Cougars finish the season at 6-5 overall and 4-3 in the NSIC South Division while the Wildcats end the year with a 2-9 record and 1-6 NSIC South Division mark.
The game was scoreless until early in the second quarter when Sioux Falls capitalized on Wayne State's first turnover for points as Cougar sophomore defensive back Solomon St. Pierre intercepted a Zach Osborn pass at the SUF 30 yard line and raced 70 yards for a touchdown.
The Wildcats then took the ensuing drive and appeared to be on the verge of tying the game as WSC marched 75 yards using 17 plays covering 9:46, but on third and goal from the Cougar one yard line Wildcat fullback Chad Koch lunged for the end zone but the ball came loose and Sioux Falls recovered for a touchback.  The Cougars then marched 80 yards on 11 plays and scored with 22 seconds left in the half on an eight-yard pass from Carrington Hanna to Austin Vanhove give Sioux Falls a 14-0 lead at intermission.
Sioux Falls continued that momentum into the third quarter as the Cougars scored on their opening drive of the second half, a 52 yard run by Brady Rose, for a 21-0 lead.  Wayne State got on the board on the following drive as redshirt freshman Tyler Basch booted a 49-yard field goal to get the 'Cats on the board at 21-3 with 9:26 to play in the third quarter.  Basch's field goal tied for the second-longest made field goal in school history.
Bad luck then hit the Wildcat offense as WSC had interceptions on their next four series with the final turnover resulting in Sioux Falls points as Rose scored his second touchdown of the day on a 14-yard run following a Wildcat interception with 12:45 to play giving Sioux Falls a 28-3 lead.
Wayne State was able to turn a Sioux Falls turnover into points near the midway point of the fourth quarter as freshman Nate Rogers tight-roped the back line of the end zone to haul in a 33-yard scoring strike from Zach Osborn to make the score 28-10.
Sioux Falls added a late score with 2:12 to play on a one yard run by Dakota Fiene to make the final score 35-10.
