Box Score Upper Iowa 3 Wayne State 0 Upper Iowa capitalized on three second half goals to defeat Wayne State 3-0 Sunday afternoon in Northern Sun play at the WSC Soccer Complex. Upper Iowa improves to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the NSIC, while Wayne State drops to 1-4-1 overall with a 0-3 league record.
The game was back and forth in the first half with both sides having scoring opportunities. Upper Iowa held a 13 to six shot advantage over the Wildcats in the half. In the second half the Peacocks used three goals in a 13 minute span to take the advantage in the match. Corinne Wronski headed in a cross from Lauren Rohrmeier to give Upper Iowa their first goal of the match in the 59
th minute. Aimee Wronski scored from a shot in the middle of the box in the 70
th minute, and then Brianne Fenton scored just under 90 seconds later to give Upper Iowa their third goal of the match.
Upper Iowa held a 26 to 15 shot advantage over Wayne State for the match. The Peacocks also had four corner kicks to Wayne State's two. The sides were even in fouls for the match with both teams being whistled for nine fouls throughout the match.
Josie Brown paced the Wildcats offensively with five shots in the match.

Margaret Harma had six saves for Wayne State in the loss, and now has a 1-4-1 record on the season.
The Wildcats will be on the road next weekend, visiting Northern State Saturday and MSU Moorhead Sunday in 1 p.m. games each day.
