Kelcie Bormann fired a two-hit shutout while also leading WSC at the plate, going 3 for 3 with a homer and two RBI, to lead the Wildcats in a 7-0 victory over Missouri Southern Friday afternoon at the Apple Market Classic Softball Tournament in St. Joseph, Missouri. The Wildcats improve to 12-4 while the Lions fall to 4-16.
Bormann produced an RBI single in the bottom of the first that scored
Jordan King for a 1-0 Wildcat lead.
WSC blew the game open with a five-run fourth inning thanks to five hits and two Lion errors.

Rachel Shumaker and
Lexie Loos each delivered run scoring singles to highlight the inning.
The Wildcats closed out the scoring in the fifth inning with a solo home run from Bormann to make the final 7-0.
Wayne State had nine hits in the game while limiting Missouri Southern to two. Bormann was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate with a home run, double and single to go with two RBI's to place the Wildcats.

Bormann improved to 7-3 on the season with the complete game win in the circle, striking out nine batters while allowing just two hits for her sixth complete game and first shutout of the season.
Wayne State will continue play at the Apple Market Classic in St. Joseph, Missouri on Saturday, facing Washburn at 10 a.m. and Northwest Missouri State in a 2 p.m. contest.
