Lexie Loos named to Daktronics/D2SIDA All-Central Region First Team

Daktronics All-Central Region Softball Team Release

            Lexie Loos of Wayne State College was named to the Daktronics/D2SIDA All-Central Region Softball Team announced Monday afternoon and voted on by the NCAA Division II Sports Information Directors Association from the Central Region.  Loos earned First Team honors and now advances to the ballot for the Daktronics All-America Team.
            Loos, a 5-8 junior outfielder from Omaha (Millard North HS), was a First Team All-NSIC selection for the Wildcats after setting a new school record with a .467 batting average while also setting new single season school records for hits (93), runs scored (53) and total bases (118).  She ranked second in the NSIC in batting average and hits, fourth in runs scored, tied for fourth in triples (5), fifth in on-base percentage (.502) and sixth in total bases. 
            Loos had 30 multi-hit games while starting 54 contests in center field for the Wildcats this season.  She had a team high 18-game hit streak and led the Wildcats in stolen bases with nine.  Loos finished the season hitting .467 with 93 hits that included 12 doubles, five triples, one home run and 15 RBI from the leadoff position.  She also excels in the classroom, earning Capital One Academic All-District VII First Team honors with a 3.59 grade point average majoring in applied human and sport physiology.
            Wayne State finished the 2015 season with a 34-21 record, placing fifth in the NSIC with an 18-12 league mark.  It was the ninth consecutive winning season for the Wildcat softball program.
