The Wayne State College beach volleyball team opened pool play Friday morning at the AVCA Small Beach College Championships at Hickory Point Recreation Area in Tavares, Florida, falling to #2 seed Spring Hill College of Alabama 5-0. 
            The Wildcat duo of Jacee Weber and Elly Larson pushed Spring Hill's #5 team of Linnea Beger and Kyla Shappell to three sets before falling 21-8, 17-21, 15-5.
            Wayne State continues pool play Friday afternoon with a match against St. Leo University of Florida at 2 p.m.
