Final Results Augustana Regional Women's Golf Preview
The Wayne State College women's golf team fired rounds of 325 and 319 and finished in a tie for third with a team score of 644 at the Augustana Regional Preview Tournament played Saturday and Sunday at The Falls at Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, Iowa.
Host Augustana edged Nebraska-Kearney 609-619 to capture the team title with Wayne State and Minnesota State tied for third at 644. Winona State was right behind in fifth at 646 followed by Fort Hays State (649), Concordia-St. Paul (651) and Northwest Missouri State eighth at 659 in the 11-team field.
Millard North junior
Jazmine Taylor was the top Wayne State finisher, tied for 11
th overall out of 66 players, with a 36-hole score of 157 following rounds of 77 and 80.
Boone Central sophomore
Abbigail Brodersen followed in a tie for 17
th place at 160 with rounds of 81 and 79.
Other Wayne State finishers were
Abbey Kurmel tied for 24
th at 163 (86-77), freshman
Saffire Sayre tied for 26
th with a 164 (81-83) and junior
Tricia Hemann tied for 53
rd with rounds of 88 and 88 for 176.
Individually,
Viktoria Bortkiewicz-Hamelin placed 52
nd overall with a 175 after shooting scores of 90 and 85.
Wayne State will conclude the fall portion of their 2022-23 schedule on Monday and Tuesday, October 17 and 18 at the Midwest Classic in Warrensburg, Missouri.
