Central Missouri used a six-run fifth inning and three more runs in the sixth inning to rally past Wayne State 10-2 Sunday evening at the 2022 Washburn Invitational Softball Tournament in Topeka, Kansas.  The Jennies improve to 3-9 with the win while WSC falls to 2-9.
The Jennies took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first but WSC came back with a run in the top of the second to knot the score at 1-1.  Jenna Etmans walked and later scored on a Kim Vidlak RBI single.
The score stayed 1-1 until the top of the fifth inning when the Wildcats scored to take a 2-1 lead.  Abby Husing opened the inning with an infield single to second base and later scored on a passed ball.
But Central Missouri stormed back in the bottom of the frame sending 10 batters to the plate, scoring six runs on four hits with three walks and one Wildcat error to take control of the game for a 7-2 lead.
WSC threatened to rally in the top of the sixth inning, loading the bases on a trio of walks, but could not get the key hit as the Wildcats left the bases loaded without scoring a run.
