Wayne State College suffered a 4-1 defeat to Colorado Mesa Thursday afternoon in the Wildcats' second pool play match at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships held in Tavares, Florida at Hickory Point Beach. WSC drops to 11-5 on the year while the Mavericks improve to 13-9.
Wayne State's win came from
Jessie Brandl and
Isabelle Vacek in the #3 match with a 21-19, 21-18 win.
Kelsie Cada and
Jordan McCormick in the #2 pairing fell in three sets by scores of 21-14, 19-21, 8-15.
Wayne State is scheduled to battle Catawba College of North Carolina to close out pool play Friday at 2 p.m. at the AVCA Small College Beach Volleyball Championships in Tavares, Florida.
