Wayne State College closed the 2022 beach volleyball season Saturday afternoon with a 4-1 win over Eckerd (Fla.) to win the Bronze Division Playoff at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships held in Tavares, Florida at Hickory Point Beach. The Wildcats finished the three-day tournament 3-3 and ended the season with a 14-6 record.
Two of the three matches that were played went three sets. The #1 pairing of
Taya Beller and
Lauren Jacobsen collected a 21-18, 12-21, 15-12 win followed by another three set victory from the 2's of
Kelsie Cada and
Jordan McCormick 21-17, 17-21, 15-9.
Wayne State's #3 group of
Jessie Brandl and
Isabelle Vacek fell in straight sets 21-15, 21-14 while the Wildcat #4 and #5 pairs each won by forfeit.
