Final Results 2022 NSIC Outdoor Track & Field Championships
The Wayne State College women's track and field team finished in eighth place with 34 points at the 2022 Northern Sun Conference Track and Field Championships that concluded Saturday in Aberdeen, South Dakota at the Swisher Field Complex. The Wildcats had one NSIC champion and three All-NSIC performers in the meet.
Minnesota State captured the women's team title with 191 points, well ahead of second place Augustana with 127 points. University of Mary (104.5), Winona State (88) and Sioux Falls (47.5) rounded out the top five teams.
Concordia-St. Paul finished sixth with 43 points followed by MSU Moorhead in seventh (36 pts) and Wayne State eighth at 34. Minnesota Duluth (32) and Bemidji State (31) closed out the top 10 teams.
Rounding out the team scoring were Northern State (28), St. Cloud State (26), Southwest Minnesota State (13), Minot State (9) and Upper Iowa (8).
Graduate student
Mckenzie Scheil had a pair of All-NSIC finshes to lead the Wildcats, winning the hammer throw while earning All-NSIC honors with a third place mark in the shot put. Her winning mark in the hammer throw was 184' 7" while also adding a third place finish in the shot put (47' 3 ¾") to earn All-NSIC honors in that event.
Junior
Brooklynn Chipps was an All-NSIC finisher in the hammer throw, taking second at 182' 0" to go with a fifth place finish in the shot put at 44' 9 ¾".
WSC had two other medal winners in the shot put with
Kendra Paasch taking sixth at 43' 4 ¼" while freshman
Brooke Languis was eighth at 43' 1 ½". Senior
Jadin Wagner collected a seventh place mark in the hammer throw at 160' 9".
