Cole Christoffersen and
Dylan Kneifl were announced by the NCAA Tuesday afternoon as national qualifiers for the NCAA Division II Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 26-28 in Allendale, Michigan and hosted by Grand Valley State University.
           Christoffersen, a graduate student from Lyons (Lyons-Decatur HS), is a national qualifier in the hammer throw. He posted a season-best mark of 200' 7" at the South Dakota Challenge April 21
st and has the 14
th-best mark in NCAA Division II this season. Christoffersen is coming off a second place finish (189' 5") at last weekend's NSIC Championships in Aberdeen, South Dakota and will compete in the event on Thursday, May 26
th at 11:30 a.m. Central Time. It's his first time as an NCAA outdoor national qualifier and second time in his career (2021 indoor – weight throw) that Christoffersen is an NCAA national track qualifier.
           Kneifl, a sophomore from Pilger (Wisner-Pilger HS), is a first-time national qualifier in the high jump after setting a new school record clearing 6' 11 ½" at last weekend's NSIC Championships to place second in the event.  He is tied for the 10
th-best mark in NCAA Division II this season and will compete at nationals in the high jump on Friday, May 27
th at 2:30 p.m. Central Time.
