Women's Shot Put Final Results
Mckenzie Scheil fouled on all three attempts in the shot put prelims Saturday morning at the NCAA Division II Women's Outdoor National Track and Field Championships in Allendale, Michigan and hosted by Grand Valley State University.
Scheil, a graduate of Fillmore Central HS, was competing in the shot put at the national championships for the second straight season after placing 12th one year ago. She entered this year's nationals ranked 18th in NCAA Division II in the shot put with a top season mark of 47' 5 ¾" at the South Dakota Twilight Meet May 6th.
Earlier in the week (Thursday), Scheil earned All-American honors thanks to a second place finish in the hammer throw at 195' 5" to mark her third All-American finish in the event during her Wayne State career.
As a team, Wayne State finished tied for 18th at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships scoring 14 points.
